Virginia Sheppard, a longtime resident of Clallam County, who was born and raised in Port Angeles, has announced her candidacy for the at-large position on the Sequim School Board. As a former volunteer art teacher and treasurer for the PTA and PTO, and a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Virginia has an acute interest in the educational future of our students.
"I believe our children can benefit from learning about accurate history, learning about the Constitution, reading, writing and math. I'm concerned about the move toward implementing subjects like Critical Race Theory, which serves to divide and discriminate."
